Automatic Release for Open-Face Corner Block
The Automatic Release is designed to work with the Portable Winch open-face corner block during log-skidding operations. It allows the pulling rope to release from the block at the appropriate point so a log can pivot and continue along the trail.
Streamline Log Skidding
When a log reaches the corner block, the trigger can release the rope from the pulley without requiring the operator to stop and manually reposition the line. This can make small-scale forestry, firewood recovery, and trail-based log pulling more efficient.
Use With the Open-Face Corner Block
The automatic release is designed to be used with the Steel Open-Face Corner Block. It is intended for compatible ropes up to 1/2 inch in diameter.
Important: Verify rope, pulley, release mechanism, winch, and anchor compatibility before use. Follow the manufacturer’s rigging and operating instructions.

*The use of an anchoring such as the PCA-1268 or the PCA-1269 is recommended when used with one of our portable capstan winches. It is not recommended for use with a portable winch when anchored with a sling: when the rope’s tension gets released, the winch would fall to the ground and could suffer damage.
